Equality Fairfax 2005 General Assembly Wrap-Up Meeting

Equality Fairfax held a meeting at the Annndale Campus of the Northern Virginia Community College to go over the results of the 2005 Virginia General Assembly. The results were mixed: one positive bill was passed, several anti-equality bills were killed or watered-down and the anti-marriage amendment passed its first step.Around a dozen legislators showed up to speak ranging from those who have long helld pro-equality positions to those who voted for the health-insurance bill yet also voted for the amendment. I hope that by next year some of those who voted for discriminatin and hatred will have seen the error of their positions. Rather than present the results of the session here, you can read the results on the Equality Virginia website.
