Cheney’s Funny

According to the New York Times, Dick Cheney “evoked the possibility of terrorists bombing U.S. cities with nuclear weapons and questioned whether Sen. John Kerry could combat such a threat”.

He’s making a funny, right?

Which is the one administration where a major foreign terrorist act succeeded? The current Bush administration.

Yet, this same administration that failed to take the terrorist threat seriously would now have us believe that it is best equipped to deal with the threat of terrorism for the next four years.

And they say this with a straight face. And the news media just repeats it and a surprisingly large number of people seem to believe it. As if, making this colossal mistake entitles them to a “do over”.

Get real, people. The Bush administration, aside from failing to take terrorism seriously until thousands of Americans had been killed, then completely overreacted and pushed through some of the worst laws this nation has ever seen with respect to civil liberties.

And to make matters worse, they continue to hold American citizens without giving them due process.

Is this really the group of people you want to run the country for the next four years? Haven’t they done enough damage?

Mr. Cheney, you have it exactly right. Give the job to Mr. Kerry. Your crew has proved it shouldn’t be in office.
