Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens

This may be the first and perhaps only time this year I’ve been able to manage photography, just the for the sake of taking photos, two weekends in a row. This time it was at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, a lovely park in DC that is chock full of photogenic things.

Kirsten, Maarja and I managed to get there after a bit of what seemed like events conspiring against us, but we persevered and I’m glad we did. It wouldn’t be hard to spend two hours in one spot without really moving and come away with dozens of fantastic photos. So, though I’ve never been there before, it’s definitely a place I’d love to visit again!

I processed these photos with Adobe Lightroom Beta 3. Normally I use Adobe Camera Raw from Photoshop CS2, but I wanted to try Lightroom. In retrospect I shouldn’t have used such a large batch of photos (I shot 359 that day). The current beta is a bit sluggish and when you combine that with figuring out how it works, it made for a longer than normal processing time. It looks like Lightroom has a lot of promise and I’m looking forward to seeing what the subsequent updates hold, but for now I think it’s back to ACR.
