2005 Smithsonian Folklife Festival

The 2005 Smithsonian Folklife Festival looked at three “cultures”: Oman, the Forest Service and Food Culture, USA. You can see why I used quotes around the word “culture” since two fo the three categories don’t really seem to qualify.Fortunately, the Oman exhibit made up for the lameness of the other two. I missed last year’s festival but this year’s gave the impression of being severely curtailed by budget cuts.

It was worth seeing but it also was not a huge loss if you didn’t make it.
