Virginia Primary

Today is the Virginia primary election. So far, based on what I’ve seen, the turnout is the typical primary turnout: abysmal. I walked into the poll and was the only person there who wasn’t a poll worker. I suspect that the turnout statewide will probaby be less than 10,000 but I’d love to be proved wrong.

I voted in the democratic primary and had only one choice to make and that was for lieutenant governor. I voted for Leslie Byrne. She is on record for supporting civil rights and not simply giving lip service to them like Chap Peterson has. If you haven’t voted today then get out to the poll. In the primary, a few votes can make the difference and it would be fantastic if we could have a candidate for lieutenant governor that actually believed civil rights should exist for the entire population and not just some.
